The Ethereum Foundation and a coalition of major wallet developers have unveiled 'Clear Signing,' a new security standard designed to replace the cryptic code walls users currently face when approving on-chain transactions. Instead of unreadable hex strings, wallets adopting the standard will display plain-language prompts — what assets are moving, who receives them, and what permissions are being granted.

The initiative is built on ERC-7730, a proposed Ethereum standard, backed by a public registry where transaction descriptions can be reviewed and verified by independent security researchers. The Ethereum Foundation's Trillion Dollar Security Initiative will oversee the registry infrastructure while pushing ecosystem-wide adoption.
