The deal would represent a notable diversification for Anthropic, which has deep ties to Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud. Tapping Microsoft's custom silicon — developed under the Azure AI infrastructure roadmap — would give Anthropic access to a third major hyperscaler's compute stack, reducing concentration risk and potentially unlocking better unit economics at scale.
