Polymarket and Nasdaq Private Market open $5 trillion private equity universe to retail traders!

Polymarket has partnered with Nasdaq Private Market to launch crypto-based prediction contracts tied to private-company milestones — letting retail traders take positions on valuations, IPO timing, and secondary share activity for unicorns that have historically been off-limits to anyone outside venture capital and accredited investor circles. Nasdaq Private Market will supply the transaction and valuation data used to resolve each yes-or-no contract.

The addressable universe is substantial: the companies cite nearly 1,600 unicorns globally carrying more than $5 trillion in cumulative value. Names like OpenAI, SpaceX, and Stripe have grown to valuations rivalling large public companies while remaining structurally inaccessible to everyday investors ahead of an IPO.
