Trump Signs Executive Order to Break Down Barriers Between Crypto and Traditional Finance!

President Trump has signed an executive order directing federal financial regulators to dismantle the regulatory barriers separating crypto and fintech from the traditional financial system. The order calls on regulators to review existing rules, guidance, and licensing processes that may be stifling innovation or blocking partnerships between fintech firms and federally regulated institutions.

The most consequential directive targets the Federal Reserve directly: the central bank is asked to evaluate whether non-bank financial companies — including digital asset firms — should be granted direct access to Fed payment accounts and services. That would be a structural shift of historic proportions for the industry.

Regulators have 90 days to identify barriers, while the Fed has 120 days to deliver its findings and recommendations to the White House. The clock is now running.
