The conflict sharpened this month. A June 5 court stay froze the underlying proceedings, and a June 2 on-chain spend from one of the dormant addresses raised the question of whether abandoned-property rules can still attach to a wallet that has demonstrably moved. The Noah Doe case is now the closest thing the US market has to a precedent on escheatment of self-custodied crypto.
