Strive Adds 124 BTC as It Closes in on Second Place

Strive holds 43,124 BTC, but overtaking Metaplanet depends on future buying by both companies; the latest filing also shows its new SATS share-sale program is now funding purchases.

Strive bought 124 BTC between Oct. 24 and Oct. 30, bringing its treasury to 43,124 BTC, according to a Monday SEC filing. The company is fourth among public bitcoin holders, behind Strategy at 849,327 BTC, Metaplanet at 44,000 BTC and Twenty One at 43,514 BTC. MARA rounds out the top five with 35,577 BTC.

Why it matters

The latest purchase was slower than Strive’s earlier buying in recent weeks, which added around $1.25 billion worth of Bitcoin in October alone. Even so, CEO Matt Cole’s stated goal is to make Strive the second-largest public Bitcoin holder by year-end. At its current holdings, Strive would need to buy fewer than 100 BTC per week for the rest of 2026 to pass Metaplanet, assuming the Japanese company makes no further purchases.

Strive ended Oct. 30 with $490.4 million in cash and cash equivalents, down $14 million from a week earlier. Cole said the company funded most of its latest Bitcoin purchases with existing cash and used its SATS preferred-stock at-the-market offering program for the first time.

Market impact

Launched Oct. 26, the SATS program allows Strive to sell up to $1 billion in preferred shares to fund additional Bitcoin purchases and other corporate expenses. Its use adds a financing channel alongside cash, though the filing does not change the company’s stated accumulation goal.

Strive also held 505,000 shares of Strategy’s STRC preferred stock, valued at approximately $50.1 million as of Oct. 30. Its SATA preferred shares outstanding remained just over 14 million. The contest for second place therefore hinges not only on Strive’s purchases, but also on whether Metaplanet adds to its holdings.
