Uniswap TJAR Opens to Apps With Robinhood as First Partner

TJAR has already handled more than $15.3 million in Uniswap protocol-fee conversions, and now lets other apps use a searcher-driven market instead of building their own conversion systems.

Uniswap Labs has opened its fee-conversion tool TJAR to other apps, with Robinhood as its first integration partner. The open-source system has handled more than $15.3 million in conversions for Uniswap protocol fees in September, according to the company, and is live on seven chains.

Why it matters

Apps can collect fees in thousands of tokens across chains, leaving teams to build their own systems to consolidate those holdings. TJAR replaces that custom infrastructure with an open market: an app deposits fee tokens into a Token Jar, chooses what token it wants to receive and sets an amount. Searchers decide whether to pay that amount through a Releaser contract to collect assets from the jar.

The jar does not set a price for each token it holds. Apps choose the payment token and destination, and can change the settings or lock them permanently. Uniswap uses UNI for payments and sends it to a burn address; other apps can select different tokens and recipients.

Market impact

Robinhood is using TJAR across its supported chains for fees collected through the Uniswap API. Fees are converted as they arrive, with Robinhood receiving USDC and USDG. The integration builds on existing ties: Uniswap trading protocols are live on Robinhood Chain, while Uniswap’s web app, wallet and API support Robinhood Stock Tokens.

TJAR gives apps a shared alternative to building fee-conversion infrastructure themselves. Uniswap DAO governance can set an optional protocol fee for TJAR, but none is currently set. Developers can access the code, deployment addresses and audit reports.

Frequently asked questions

  1. How does TJAR convert fees collected by an app?

An app deposits fee assets into a Token Jar and chooses a payout token and amount. Searchers can pay that amount through a Releaser contract to collect assets from the jar.

  2. What does the Token Jar determine about the assets it holds?

The jar does not set a price for each token. Searchers decide whether to accept the trade and pay the amount selected by the app.

  3. Which tokens does Robinhood receive through its TJAR integration?

Robinhood receives USDC and USDG from its jars. TJAR converts fees collected through the Uniswap API as they come in.

  4. Can apps change their TJAR settings after setup?

Yes. Apps can change the payout token, amount and destination at any time, or lock their settings permanently.

  5. Is there a protocol fee for TJAR?

Uniswap DAO governance can set an optional TJAR protocol fee, but none is currently set.
