Starting Sept. 29, Binance will stop accepting direct on-chain crypto deposits into Funding Accounts. Users must deposit to Spot instead, and Binance Pay receipts and Convert order settlements will also move to Spot. Existing Funding balances are being handled separately, and Binance says most users do not need to transfer them manually.
The shift changes where assets land, not necessarily which balances can fund payments. Pay transactions can still draw from Funding or Spot according to users’ Payment Priority settings. Funding-only recurring Pay sends remain available for now, but Binance says they will stop executing when Funding is later removed as a Pay source; no date has been announced for that step.
Convert orders backed by assets in Funding remain open and will settle into Spot after the change. Binance advises users with recurring Convert plans to switch their account selection to Spot, and API users to update account references. Funding assets left after voluntary transfers are scheduled for automatic migration in batches starting January 2027. Binance also plans to rename Funding the Stocks Account that month, while bStocks balances are to move to Spot.
