Bybit Launches AI Sub-Accounts With Built-In Risk Controls for Autonomous Trading Agents!

Bybit has gone live with a dedicated AI sub-account feature, purpose-built for users running autonomous AI trading agents. The accounts let traders isolate all AI-driven activity from their main balance and set granular controls over funds, leverage, withdrawal permissions, and trading scope — all via API.

The design is a direct response to a real operational risk: a compromised or malfunctioning AI agent with unrestricted access to a full account can cause significant damage before a human intervenes. By sandboxing the agent inside a sub-account with hard limits, Bybit gives traders a circuit-breaker layer that doesn't rely on the agent itself behaving correctly.
