Wang said FTX had fewer than 200 employees, many working 16- to 18-hour days. She also disputed the trailer's portrayal of Ellison as aggressive and said she did not know the pair were dating until after the bankruptcy. FTX collapsed in November 2022 after a liquidity crisis exposed close financial ties to Alameda and misuse of customer funds.
Bankman-Fried was convicted on seven fraud and conspiracy counts in November 2023 and sentenced to 25 years in prison. Ellison pleaded guilty, cooperated with prosecutors and received a two-year sentence in September 2024. Netflix's eight-episode limited series is scheduled to premiere Nov. 19.
