Internet Computer (ICP) surged 9.8% to claim the top spot in the CoinDesk 20 Index on Tuesday, with Stellar (XLM) adding 1.7% to round out the day's leaders. The broader index itself traded at 2,035.72, up just 0.1% from the prior 4 p.m. ET close — a modest headline gain that masks a reasonably broad advance, with 12 of 20 constituent assets finishing in positive territory.

On the downside, NEAR led laggards with a 3.9% decline, while AAVE slipped 0.6%. The divergence between ICP's near double-digit move and the index's flat reading underscores how concentrated the day's momentum was — one asset doing the heavy lifting while the rest of the basket largely treaded water.

The CoinDesk 20 is a broad-based index covering the top liquid digital assets, traded across multiple platforms globally. A 12-of-20 positive breadth reading is constructive even when the index-level move is small.
