Polygon Labs added TRON support to Open Money Stack, giving businesses a single integration for stablecoin payments and cross-border transfers. TRON carries more than $94 billion of USDT, and Polygon says businesses can move USDT between TRON and supported EVM networks without separately connecting a wallet provider, bridge or fiat-ramp operator.
The service is designed for remittance firms, fintechs and payment providers. A customer could pay by bank transfer, debit card or cash, receive USDT on TRON, then cash out to a bank account. Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal said the integration lets businesses offer that service through one connection.
Why it matters
The integration links bank and cash payment options with USDT transfers across networks, combining steps that businesses may otherwise arrange through separate providers. TRON is already a major network for USDT: about 93% of its $30 trillion in stablecoin transfer volume was peer-to-peer in the second quarter, the highest share among networks tracked by CoinDesk.
The setup does not make TRON a bank or remove payment firms’ licensing obligations. Polygon says its fiat-ramp service uses money-transmitter licenses and compliance systems covering 48 U.S. states.
Market impact
For remittance and payment businesses, the practical change is a consolidated route to fund, transfer and cash out USDT, including transfers between TRON and supported EVM networks. The integration could make it simpler to serve customers across different payment environments, while regulatory requirements remain in place.
