SoftBank teams up with Nvidia and Foxconn to build domestic AI servers inside Japan!

SoftBank is partnering with Nvidia and Foxconn to manufacture AI servers domestically in Japan, marking a significant step in the country's push to build sovereign advanced computing infrastructure. The three-way collaboration brings together SoftBank's local scale and capital, Nvidia's GPU architecture, and Foxconn's manufacturing depth.

Japan has been accelerating investment in domestic AI infrastructure as governments worldwide race to reduce dependence on foreign supply chains for critical compute. A home-built AI server supply chain would give Japan greater control over the hardware underpinning its enterprise and government AI deployments.
