StarkWare has launched OffMarket, a service that lets Polymarket users trade without publicly linking their positions to their accounts. Polymarket trades remain public on Polygon, and deposits to OffMarket are currently capped at $1,000 USDC per account. Orders execute on Polymarket against the same buyers and sellers, at the same market prices.
Why it matters
The launch targets a privacy gap exposed by the transparency of onchain prediction markets. Blockchain analysts linked several accounts belonging to a French trader who bet tens of millions of dollars on Donald Trump winning the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Bloomberg later reported identifying at least 34,000 trades flagged as possible insider activity between August 2025 and June 2026.
OffMarket uses zero-knowledge technology on Starknet and shares the network's privacy pool, which has around $1.5 million and 17,000 deposits, according to L2BEAT figures cited by StarkWare. The service is non-custodial, with users keeping their keys in their browsers. OpenZeppelin audited the pool contract in June and reported no critical or high-severity findings; StarkWare said it formally verified the contract the following month.
Market impact
Privacy does not make trading activity invisible. Trade markets, prices and orders remain public, and transaction size or timing may still help identify a trader. Transfers from the shared pool to a fresh wallet are visible, although they do not show who originally deposited the funds. Smaller numbers of pool users could make identification easier.
The limited release has small trading volumes by design, and private orders take about a minute to execute. OffMarket is not a Polymarket product and has no formal partnership or special platform access, though it is part of Polymarket's verified builder program. It also applies Polymarket's geographic restrictions, including the U.S. user ban.
