TAO drops 4%, drags CoinDesk 20 index to 0.8% loss

Bittensor (TAO) led the CoinDesk 20 index lower on Friday, falling 4% to become the session's worst performer. Internet Computer (ICP) was close behind, shedding 3.8% and adding to the broad-based selling pressure.

The CoinDesk 20 index settled at 1,975.1, down 0.8% (–14.99 points) from its 4 p.m. ET Thursday level. Only three of the 20 constituent assets managed gains, with NEAR (+1%) and HBAR (+0.5%) the lone bright spots in an otherwise weak session.

The lopsided ratio — 17 assets declining against 3 advancing — reflects a risk-off tilt across the mid-cap crypto landscape, with AI-adjacent tokens like TAO bearing the sharpest selling.
