Crypto custody and tokenization firm Taurus has secured a MiFID II investment license from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, giving it full regulatory standing to offer investment services for tokenized financial instruments across the European Union. The license covers secondary trading in tokenized bonds, fund shares, equities, and structured products — the full menu of traditional capital markets assets, now on distributed ledger rails.
Co-founder Sébastien Dessimoz framed the move as a trust signal for institutional counterparties: banks and asset managers are accustomed to facing MiFID-licensed brokers, and Taurus can now present itself in exactly that format. The firm already counts Deutsche Bank, State Street, Santander, Pictet, and Swissquote among its institutional clients.
