Visa has added Arc, Base, Canton, Polygon, and Tempo to its stablecoin settlement pilot, bringing the total number of supported blockchains to nine. On-chain settlement volume is now running at an annualized pace of roughly $7 billion — up approximately 50% quarter over quarter — a pace that signals the pilot has moved well beyond proof-of-concept.
The network also disclosed it now supports more than 130 stablecoin-linked card programs across over 50 countries, giving the infrastructure real-world reach at a scale few blockchain payment experiments have matched. The addition of Base and Polygon in particular connects Visa's rails to two of the most active developer ecosystems in crypto.
For the broader market, Visa's expanding multi-chain commitment is a strong institutional signal that stablecoin settlement is graduating from experiment to operational infrastructure.
