World, the identity project co-founded by Sam Altman, introduced a World ID suite for banks and financial firms at the Money20/20 conference. It combines World ID’s identity wallet and Proofs with World ID for Zoom and World ID for Agents, also called AgentKit. World said the tools can help institutions defend customer accounts, employee workflows and AI agents against deepfake fraud and AI-driven impersonation.
World also made World ID for Zoom generally available after a limited beta began in April. The feature lets people on a call verify that the person they are speaking with is human, while Tools for Humanity, the main developer behind World, joined Zoom’s independent software vendor exchange program.
Why it matters
The rollout is World’s first product aimed at a specific industry, moving its identity technology toward enterprise and financial-services use. World said more than 18 million people now hold a Proof of Human, giving the platform an existing base as it seeks institutional adoption.
The stated problem is expanding with generative AI. World cited a Deloitte forecast that AI-enabled fraud losses in the United States could reach $40 billion by 2027, up from an estimated $12.3 billion in 2023. Its design partners include OpenExchange, Bain Capital, VanEck Funds and Outtake, but World did not name a bank using the suite or disclose pricing.
Market impact
For World and its WLD ecosystem, bank partnerships and enterprise integrations could broaden the practical use case beyond consumer identity. AgentKit would let users delegate their Proofs to AI agents, which could then present them to third-party platforms.
The commercial rollout remains exploratory, with design partners testing applications across banking and finance. World will also present the technology at Zoomtopia and Cloudflare Connect, giving the project additional venues to develop enterprise demand for verifiable human identity.
