Babylon is a decentralized protocol designed to bring native Bitcoin staking directly to the Bitcoin blockchain without relying on custodial intermediaries. The protocol introduces a shared-security architecture that allows BTC holders to stake their assets on Bitcoin while simultaneously extending Bitcoin's security guarantees to other decentralized networks. Built using the Cosmos SDK, it supports IBC for cross-chain communication and CosmWasm for smart contract execution, giving developers the ability to deploy contracts and interoperate with the broader Cosmos ecosystem.
