Silencio is a decentralized network that collects real-world audio data to support the development of voice artificial intelligence, robotics, AR/VR applications, and spatial intelligence systems. Operating within the DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks) framework, the project transforms ordinary user devices into a distributed array of audio sensors, building a foundational layer for what it describes as "machine hearing." The platform relies on voluntary, opt-in participation, with contributors sharing anonymized sound recordings in exchange for rewards. This privacy-conscious approach is designed to address concerns about how audio data is traditionally gathered, offering an alternative in which users retain ownership of the information they provide. According to the project, a global community of contributors has generated tens of billions of datapoints across multiple languages and regions. SLC is the native token that powers this ecosystem, used to coordinate contributions and reward participants.
