Clearpool proposes $965M credit book migration to XRPL
Token swap is community-gated, but if it lands, XRPL gets its first live institutional credit market and a template for the institutional builders who have written the chain off.
Clearpool is a decentralized capital markets ecosystem built to connect institutional borrowers with on-chain liquidity through unsecured loans sourced directly from the DeFi ecosystem. Operating across both the Ethereum and Solana networks, the protocol is associated with the broader Real World Assets movement and is recognized as part of the Sequoia Capital portfolio. The platform's core function is to match lenders with approved institutional borrowers, using a dynamic interest model shaped by supply and demand. Liquidity providers deposit assets into individual borrower pools and receive cpTokens in return, which represent their share and serve as building blocks for a tokenized credit framework intended to support risk management and hedging. CPOOL is the protocol's native utility and governance token. Holders participate in governance, including voting on the whitelisting of new borrowers, while borrowers are required to stake CPOOL in order to submit proposals for access. Liquidity providers also receive CPOOL rewards on top of pool yields, and the protocol has outlined a buyback program funded by a share of revenue to sustain these incentive pools over time.
