CROID Cronos ID Rank #3144
Cronos ID is a decentralised identity and communication protocol operating on the Cronos chain, designed to give users human-readable on-chain identifiers for sending and receiving information across the network. The platform is structured around three core subprotocols. The Domains component assigns each user a unique on-chain identity, simplifying how individuals locate one another and transact. A Notifications service delivers alerts for protocol events, including NFT bids and changes to collateral factors, reducing the need to monitor individual decentralised applications manually. A Messaging layer enables direct, verifiable communication between users and projects. CROID is the native governance and utility token of the Cronos ID ecosystem. It is used to pay for domain registration and renewal subscriptions, with discounts available for longer registration periods, alongside CRO as an accepted payment option. Domain holders may also deposit CROID into maturity vaults of varying lock-up durations, including one, nine, twenty-four, and forty-eight months, to earn CROID and wCRO as staking rewards. CROID additionally grants holders governance rights over the protocol's broader development.
