Ethereum is a decentralized, open-source blockchain platform designed to support smart contracts and decentralized applications without the control of any central authority. Often described as a programmable global computer, it allows developers to build a wide range of on-chain services, from financial protocols and NFT marketplaces to gaming platforms, using self-executing programs written primarily in Solidity. These smart contracts run on the Ethereum Virtual Machine, which is maintained by a global network of independent nodes. The native asset, Ether (ETH), functions as the network's currency. It is used to pay transaction fees, commonly referred to as gas, and must be staked by validators who propose and confirm blocks. In September 2022, Ethereum transitioned from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake through an event known as the Merge, reducing its energy consumption by more than 99 percent. An earlier upgrade, EIP-1559, introduced a fee-burning mechanism that can offset issuance during periods of high activity. Ethereum was proposed in 2013 by Vitalik Buterin, alongside several co-founders, and launched in July 2015. It belongs to the Smart Contract Platform and Layer 1 categories, and remains the largest ecosystem for decentralized application development.

Bitmine's accumulation now controls 4.49% of Ethereum's circulating supply — a single-issuer footprint that makes the Tom Lee thesis the largest non-Bitcoin treasury bet on a public balance sheet.
The $69K print is the lowest since April 7, and the trigger is a $2.5M sale from the largest public BTC holder — small in dollars, loud in signal as spot ETFs log an 11-day outflow streak.
CME Group's newly launched 24/7 crypto derivatives market recorded $50 million in trading volume over its opening…
The transfer follows a five-year dormancy, but the deposit may simply be a rebalance between Bitfinex's own wallets — not a one-way sale.

The $70K handle is the headline, but the real signal is sentiment snapping back to Extreme Fear and Strategy — the largest corporate holder — pivoting from accumulation to distribution for the first…
The 32-coin sale is a rounding error on MSTR's balance sheet, but the precedent is the story — and ETF outflows plus a stalled risk-asset bid leave no obvious near-term bid for BTC.
Only ~$1.7M remains in the original wallets — the laundering path through THORChain, Wasabi, Tornado Cash, and Umbra has closed the window for direct transaction-level recovery.
The 7,200-contract weekend print is small against CME's daily crypto volume, but it confirms round-the-clock liquidity lands without a weekend liquidity cliff — the structural test the launch had to…
24 hours that redrew the map: a Fed independence warning from Powell, Anthropic's confidential IPO filing, Binance rolling 8,000 US equities onto crypto rails, and Strategy selling BTC at the same…
A $10T custody platform opening crypto spot trading, transfer, and custody to RIAs is a different order of legitimization than a retail rollout — advisor-platform rails convert into multi-decade AUM.
The wallet is sitting on a $200K paper loss from a two-month-ago dip-buy at $1,999 — and on-chain flows suggest the holder is choosing to cut exposure rather than wait for a bounce.
The headline is the rotation thesis: stocks, metals, oil, even potatoes are at highs while crypto lags — and the Saylor, Tom Lee, and Clarity Act reads point to a violent catch-up trade into midterms.
CME Group has officially launched around-the-clock trading for its crypto futures and options products, eliminating the…
The October 2024 exploit drained $51M across Arbitrum and BNB Chain, and 18 months later the omnichain money market says it cannot raise fresh capital — another casualty in a record-breaking year for…
