HTR Hathor Rank #2369
Hathor (HTR) is the native asset of a layer-one blockchain that uses a hybrid architecture combining a Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) with a traditional blockchain structure. Rather than ordering transactions inside blocks using a Merkle tree as Bitcoin does, Hathor organizes transactions in a DAG that exists outside the blocks, with blocks serving to confirm the DAG. This design is intended to support scalability while preserving decentralization, and it is based on the doctoral research of the project's founder, Marcelo Brogliato. The network is secured through a Proof of Work (PoW) consensus mechanism and supports both a native smart contract platform and the creation of custom tokens without the need for a separate virtual machine, gas fees, or ERC-20-style contract standards. Tokens issued on Hathor inherit the same throughput and security characteristics as HTR itself. The platform also positions itself around real-world asset (RWA) applications, offering infrastructure geared toward asset tokenization alongside general-purpose decentralized application development.
