StarHeroes is a multiplayer space shooter game built around a single utility token called STAR, along with NFT-based in-game assets. The project has been developed since 2021 by STAR studio, a subsidiary of GameSwift, and is positioned as a competitive title aimed at the esports segment of the GameFi space. STAR functions as the central economic layer of the game. Holders can use it to acquire spaceships and fuel, upgrade and equip their NFT Heroes, buy missions, and shorten mission completion times. The token also supports staking, governance participation, and a revenue-sharing mechanism tied to the game's "Real Yield" model. Additional STAR is distributed through in-game leaderboards and airdrops linked to competitive performance. StarHeroes supports both web2 and web3 modes, allowing players without crypto experience to participate while offering blockchain-based ownership and rewards for those who opt in. The game is deployed within the Arbitrum and Ethereum ecosystems, and combines action and shooting genres with a play-and-earn structure. At the time of writing, the project is in closed beta, with broader access planned in subsequent release phases.
