AVAX and SUI futures go live on CME for institutional traders
Avalanche and Sui futures go live on the venue that sets the institutional risk-transfer benchmark, deepening the regulated path to alt-L1 exposure.
SUI is the native token of the Sui Network, a Layer 1 blockchain built by Mysten Labs, a team of former lead engineers from Meta's blockchain research division. Sui is designed to support high-throughput decentralized applications, digital asset ownership, and Web3 services through a secure, scalable architecture. Unlike traditional account-based ledgers, Sui organizes data into independent objects. This object-centric model enables parallel transaction execution, allowing the network to process many transactions simultaneously and achieve fast finality. Sui uses the Move programming language, which provides a robust framework for smart contract development, and supports horizontal scaling to keep transaction fees low as activity increases. A storage fund collects fees and rewards validators for maintaining on-chain data over time. The SUI token is the primary asset used to pay transaction fees and power on-chain activity across decentralized exchanges, lending platforms, and other applications. Holders can stake SUI in a proof-of-stake mechanism to secure the network and earn rewards, while also participating in governance decisions. Sui additionally offers user-friendly features such as zkLogin for simplified access and sponsored transactions. The project has attracted institutional backing from Andreessen Horowitz, Coinbase Ventures, Circle Ventures, and YZi Labs.

The index slipped to 2066.65 with only four of twenty constituents in the green, while NEAR (+2.1%) and TAO (+1.2%) carried the leaders side.
BTC dominance holds above 58% and the Fear & Greed Index sits at 34, but a Polymarket-implied 37% chance of a U.S.–Iran deal is the macro tailwind keeping risk bid through the recovery.
Security researchers have flagged an active malware campaign dubbed TrapDoor, targeting developer environments across…
The macro narrative from the bulls is intact — a PMI expansion, a new Fed chair, and an AI productivity boom — but the tape is telling a different story right now, and the headline cluster is uglier…
A cross-chain week of stablecoin plumbing: PumpFun adopts USDC pairs, Sui waives gas on stablecoin transfers, and BNB Chain publishes a post-quantum roadmap — small upgrades, sector-wide signal.
A 19% surge in a single index constituent while the broader CoinDesk 20 barely moves is the cleanest signal of rotational, not broad-based, risk-on.
Bitwise's BHYP printed $4.31M in opening-day volume and 21Shares' THYP already sits fifth in cumulative inflows after four sessions — the combined $6.11M debut nearly matches the prior eight 2026…
One gainer out of twenty — and it's BNB, up just 0.4% — captures the day: even the leader couldn't offset SUI's 6.8% drop and ICP's 5.9% slide.
The raise is small relative to frontier-AI capital flows, but the bet is structural: Nof1's Alpha Arena is the first public test of whether LLMs can evolve from chatbots into autonomous capital…
SUI, AVAX, NEAR, INJ, TIA, IMX and AXS have moved past the supply overhang that typically pressures early-stage tokens, while APT and JTO approach their final unlocks later this year.
Sui and Bittensor led the downside on a soft session for the broad index, while Polkadot and BNB were the only notable names on the green side.
SUI's 4.9% drop and TAO's 4.4% slide dragged the broad index down 36.49 points, with only CRO and BNB finishing green among the 20 constituents.
The SUI move is decoupling from Bitcoin's push past $82K — the catalyst is structural: a zero-fee stablecoin upgrade plus a NASDAQ-listed treasury staking 108.7M tokens out of float.
Seventeen of twenty index constituents traded green, with breadth — not just the SUI spike — doing the heavy lifting for the broad-based index's 1.8% Friday-to-now gain.
The five-week inflow streak now totals $4.9B YTD into BTC products — and the $82K 200-day SMA is the line bulls need to crack to unlock the next leg.
The whipsaw is two stories at once — a $1,700 BTC range inside an hour, and a derivatives book where leverage is flat while geopolitics repriced the dollar and oil overnight.
The BTC move extends a post-election bid shaped by spot ETF inflows and a softer macro tape; the Sui surge is a separate story — a corporate treasury decision moved the tape 25% in a day.
SUI cleared its 20-week moving average and pushed toward the $2.18 50-week hurdle, while ADA's daily MACD compressed for months — the same setup that marked prior altcoin reversals.
Abiodun used the Consensus 2026 stage to frame Sui as a future default payments rail — but the network is still working through recent validator stalls and a token 81% below its 2025 high.
