Tron active accounts hit record 26.97M in June
The milestone marks a network-level acceleration: 26.97M monthly active accounts and 385.77M transactions both set new all-time peaks for Tron in a single month.
TRON is a decentralized, blockchain-based operating protocol and smart contract platform functioning as a Layer 1 network. It is designed to support large-scale decentralized applications and to serve as a high-throughput settlement layer for stablecoins and routine digital transactions, using a resource model based on bandwidth and energy to maintain low costs even at high volumes. The network is governed through a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), with no central authority directing protocol decisions. It runs on a Delegated Proof of Stake consensus mechanism in which token holders elect 27 Super Representatives responsible for validating transactions and maintaining the ledger. The platform is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, enabling developers to port existing applications over with relative ease. Its broader ecosystem includes decentralized finance services such as JustLend DAO and decentralized storage through the BitTorrent File System. TRX is the native utility token of the network. It is used to pay for transactions, access network resources, and participate in governance. Holders can stake TRX to acquire TRON Power, which grants voting rights on protocol rules and Super Representative elections while allowing participants to earn staking rewards. The project was founded by Justin Sun under the TRON Foundation and has since transitioned toward community-led operation, supported by partnerships with major global technology entities.
