Ethereum Layer-2 and AI-adjacent tokens absorbed the bulk of CMC's 24h mid-cap gains between the 15:00 UTC snapshots of 08 Jul and 09 Jul, while cross-chain and Solana DEX names bled ranks in the same band.
The split
ARB (Arbitrum) led the climbers with a 13.8% price gain and four ranks to 76. ENA (Ethena) added two to 65, with FET, GT, and SPX each gaining a pair of ranks in the lower band of the top 100. On the other side, ZRO (LayerZero) dropped five ranks to 100 on a 4.2% slide, and JUP (Jupiter) fell three to 68.
| Token | Rank | Delta | 24h |
|---|---|---|---|
ARB Arbitrum |
#76 | ▲ 4 | ▲ 13.8% |
ENA Ethena |
#65 | ▲ 2 | ▲ 3.1% |
ZRO LayerZero |
#100 | ▼ 5 | ▼ 4.2% |
JUP Jupiter |
#68 | ▼ 3 | ▼ 3.3% |
The top-10 boundary sat unchanged for the third straight CMC snapshot — same ten tickers, same order — leaving the entire 24h story in the mid-cap band.
The pattern
Rotation within Layer-2 and DeFi infrastructure rather than across it, with the older cross-chain stack (ZRO) underperforming newer L2 tokens (ARB) by roughly 18 percentage points on the day.
