Standard Chartered has reaffirmed its $4,000 Ethereum price target for 2025, even as ETH struggles to hold the $2,000 level and continues to lag Bitcoin in year-to-date performance. The bank argues that Ethereum's current market valuation fails to reflect the underlying strength building across its network.
In its note, Standard Chartered pointed to rising network usage, accelerating DeFi activity, and the expanding tokenization of real-world assets as the structural drivers that justify a doubling from current levels. The bank also maintains a long-term $40,000 ETH price target, signalling it views the present weakness as a valuation gap rather than a fundamental deterioration.
For investors, the call is notable precisely because it comes from a major TradFi institution at a moment when ETH sentiment is soft.
