Truth Social to Charge $1.2M/Year for Trump-Fed Institutional API

Trump Media & Technology Group plans to roll out Truth API to institutional customers on Aug. 1, a licensed data feed that delivers posts from high-ranking Truth Social accounts in machine-readable form, Reuters reported. Pricing discussed with firms reached $100,000 per month, or $60,000 per month on a three-year commit, putting the top tier at roughly $1.2 million a year. The Wall Street Journal reported at least five subscribers have already signed, and Axios said the initial feed covers ten accounts tied to Trump, the White House and senior administration officials.

Why it matters

The product sits in a familiar lane: paid, low-latency data is how Bloomberg terminals, exchange co-location services and specialist news wires make money. The difference is the source. A Truth Social post from a sitting president can move equities, oil, Treasuries and Bitcoin in minutes, and the company selling faster access to that post is controlled by the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust, which holds about 41.1% of Trump Media's voting power per the latest annual filing. Rep. Ritchie Torres asked the SEC to review the product for securities, market-manipulation and investor-protection issues, and Sen. Mark Warner urged financial institutions to reject it as a troubling form of information asymmetry around government policy.

Market impact

The pitch targets firms whose algorithms turn text into trades, with high-frequency and quant shops the clearest buyers. The April 7-9, 2025 tariff cycle set the precedent: Bitcoin fell roughly $1,000 in the hour after Trump's April 7 ultimatum to China, then jumped more than 5% and briefly cleared $83,000 after the April 9 pause, with $374 million in short liquidations. The March 23, 2026 Iran-strike delay showed the same shape on a bigger cross-asset scale, with oil down more than 13% and Bitcoin pushing through $70,000 before Iran's denial erased most of the move. The test on Aug. 1 is whether the latency advantage is real, measurable, and durable, and whether disclosure in subsequent Trump Media filings shows the subscription base is large enough to justify the headline price.
