Chainlink is a decentralized oracle network that bridges smart contracts with off-chain data, events, and traditional systems. Because blockchains cannot natively access external information, Chainlink provides a secure middleware layer that allows on-chain applications to react to real-world inputs through verified, tamper-resistant data delivery. LINK is the network's native utility token. It is used to pay node operators for their services, fund subscription accounts, and secure the network through staking, with staked LINK subject to slashing for unreliable performance.
