Bitmine ETH treasury hits 5.7M as BMNR joins Russell 1000
Tom Lee's Bitmine now holds 94% of its 5%-of-Ethereum-supply target after another 27K-ETH weekly buy, and its Russell 1000 inclusion could pull passive flows from a far larger investor base.
Ethereum is a decentralized, open-source blockchain platform designed to support smart contracts and decentralized applications without the control of any central authority. Often described as a programmable global computer, it allows developers to build a wide range of on-chain services, from financial protocols and NFT marketplaces to gaming platforms, using self-executing programs written primarily in Solidity. These smart contracts run on the Ethereum Virtual Machine, which is maintained by a global network of independent nodes. The native asset, Ether (ETH), functions as the network's currency. It is used to pay transaction fees, commonly referred to as gas, and must be staked by validators who propose and confirm blocks. In September 2022, Ethereum transitioned from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake through an event known as the Merge, reducing its energy consumption by more than 99 percent. An earlier upgrade, EIP-1559, introduced a fee-burning mechanism that can offset issuance during periods of high activity. Ethereum was proposed in 2013 by Vitalik Buterin, alongside several co-founders, and launched in July 2015. It belongs to the Smart Contract Platform and Layer 1 categories, and remains the largest ecosystem for decentralized application development.

The chairman-led ETH treasury vehicle kept adding during a quiet tape, the kind of patient accumulation that does more for sector sentiment than the headline number suggests.
The accumulation isn't slowing: a single-week 27K add brings Bitmine within striking distance of its 5% "alchemy" target just 11 months in, with $211M in projected staking revenue.
The largest Ether treasury now holds 5.7M ETH, almost 5% of supply, even as quarterly losses stack up for both BTC and ETH.
Bitcoin held first place, but the appearance of a small-cap alt like LAB in second marks the real shift: retail attention is widening beyond the two majors.
Ethereum's co-founder frames program obfuscation as close to a universal trustless middleman, then admits today's implementations are still galactic in cost, with the long arc mapped but no…

The rotation is the story: customers are pulling USDT off two of the world's largest venues and redeploying into native BTC, a flow mix that tracks with the broader move up in price.
BTC is off more than 50% from its October high, $200M in leveraged longs have already been liquidated, and a sub-$60K slide puts a $712M options magnet at $50K directly in price-discovery territory.
Buterin framed iO as the field's ultimate unsolved problem, then walked back the dream: even the best lattice-based constructions carry computational costs he describes as 'literally galactic.'
The BIS survey flip is the real signal: for the first time, the world's reserve banks treat dollar stablecoins as plumbing that strengthens the dollar's plumbing rather than a parallel challenge to…
The split between $2.5B in Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF outflows and sub-$75M of inflows into XRP and Hyperliquid products signals de-risking rather than a clean rotation, and that distinction matters…
The PBOC's largest reverse-repo injection in a year lands the same week Bitcoin broke $60K and Fed-funds futures flipped to price in an October hike, putting global liquidity back on the table.
The DEX wind-down closes a six-year run for one of Ethereum's earliest zkRollup experiments, with the team returning remaining user funds via a contract upgrade.
The downgrade is timing, not substance: the bill cleared Banking on May 14, but a packed floor queue, unresolved ethics and developer-protection language, and no unified Banking-Agriculture text…
But the runtime of today's indistinguishability obfuscation schemes still runs longer than the age of the universe, so the construction is real in theory and absent in practice.
BTC dominance at 55.9% and a Fear & Greed reading of 12 tell the same story: capital is rotating into majors while altcoins bleed through Europe's first full MiCA week.
BTC's bleeding, ETH's outflow streak just hit seven weeks, and the only bid came from altcoin ETFs few investors had heard of a year ago.
Two red quarters to open a year has happened only twice in BTC's history. The driver list is unchanged: ETF outflows, a hawkish Fed under Warsh, and a seven-month-high dollar pulling capital toward…
