Gaia is a decentralized AI infrastructure protocol launched in April 2024 and deployed across the Ethereum mainnet as well as several EVM-compatible networks, including the BNB Chain and Base ecosystems. The project is designed to let developers and enterprises run customized inference systems, coordinate agent workflows, and monetize proprietary knowledge assets. Its modular architecture separates compute, data management, and governance into distinct layers, allowing users in fields such as research, finance, and media to configure workflows with a degree of precision and operational resilience that is difficult to achieve on monolithic AI platforms. To lower the barrier to entry, Gaia provides one-click deployment tools, integrations with widely used developer frameworks, and a growing open-source library of AI models. Agents can be launched, tested, and managed through either command-line interfaces or graphical dashboards. The platform also functions as an AI agent launchpad and governance framework, supporting a native token economy in which holders can participate in protocol-level decision making and the broader Base native and Ethereum-based AI tooling landscape.
